An easygoing day on the flats

Crystal River sits on Florida's Nature Coast, where a spring-fed estuary, grass flats, and backcountry all meet the Gulf. It's some of the most productive, most relaxed inshore waters in the state, and it fishes well year-round.

This half-day charter is built for families and first-timers as much as seasoned anglers. Your captain reads the tides, picks the bite, and puts you on fish, whether that's your kid's first redfish or a morning of steady action for the whole group.

Scallop net bags for your catch

ON THE LINE

What you'll be fishing for

Crystal River's flats hold redfish, spotted seatrout, and snook through much of the year, with seasonal shots at cobia, Spanish mackerel, and tripletail. Your captain chooses the run based on the tide, the season, and what's biting that day.

How the trip goes

1

Meet at the dock

Check in with your captain, stow your cooler and snacks, and step aboard. No gear to bring or set up.

2

Fish the backcountry

Run the flats and creeks with your captain and mate, who'll rig lines, teach the cast, and put you on fish.

3

Head back with the story

Return to the dock after your half day. Ask your captain about keeping fish, some species have their own rules.

Before you book

Fishing is wild and weather dependent, so the bite and the run vary with the day. Taxes and booking fees are shown clearly at checkout before payment. Have questions about your group or a specific target species? Give the shop a call and the captain can help you plan.
